Here’s the scoop: we have a high-demand-low-inventory situation on our hands, and you may be wondering just what exactly that means. Well, here it is: People want houses – and are willing to pay for them; but unfortunately, not a whole lot of people are selling. Hence, the high-demand-low-inventory.

Wondering why this is?  Well – there are a variety of reasons.  One, our population is growing substantially – Utah was ranked the 4th fastest growing state in 2013 and the second fastest in 2014.  In 2015, we reached 3 million people.  Our economy is – well – solidly consistent and robust. In fact, it’s one of the strongest economies in the nation – as evidenced by the fact that in 2015 the job growth rate ranked number one. (That’s the best number there is).

So all of these facts add up to the fact that Utah is growing – fast and strong – and shows no signs of slowing down. Add that to the fact that interest rates are still quite exceptional, housing prices are remaining high, and you’ve got yourself a whole lot of people that want to make this place their home.
